Veneers in South Calgary AB

When patients want instant cosmetic results, dental veneers can often provide a solution. We offer both composite resin and porcelain veneers in our South Calgary dental office to improve patients’ smiles.

Correcting Damaged Teeth with a Single Treatment

Couple hugging | Dentist Calgary ABDental veneers correct a number of cosmetic concerns at once.

  • Non-uniform spaces between teeth
  • Stained or dark-coloured teeth
  • Irregularly shaped teeth
  • Worn, chipped, or fractured teeth
  • Short or small-looking teeth
  • Gummy smiles
  • Gaps between teeth

Composite veneers – We create composite veneers chairside using tooth-coloured resin to reshape and cover the existing tooth structure.

Porcelain veneers – Our trusted dental laboratory creates porcelain veneers, which are ultra-thin, tooth-shaped restorations that fit directly over the front of teeth.

Our dentists closely match veneers to patients’ skin tone, facial structure, and gender for natural-looking results.

Treatment Planning and Smile Design

Before we begin cosmetic dental treatment, it’s essential to evaluate your oral health to rule out any underlying oral disease such as periodontal disease and decay. Our dental team will address these issues before applying veneers to improve the longevity and satisfaction of your investment.

Next, we will take moulds of teeth and plan the size, shape, and number of veneers using smile design. In many cases, we can create a “try-in” for you to preview your new smile.

Precise planning will ensure that teeth come together correctly and that the bite is comfortable.

Veneers can correct one out-of-place tooth or your full smile.

The Dental Veneer Procedure

Close up of woman's smile | Dentist Calgary ABFor each tooth receiving a dental veneer, your Calgary dentist will remove some tooth surface to make space for the veneer without a bulky appearance. We will make sure you are comfortable throughout your procedure by using a local anesthetic.

Composite veneers bond directly to teeth, and your dentist will shape the final restorations and polish them to feel and look smooth.

Your dentist will cement porcelain veneers individually to teeth, and you will be able to brush and floss them normally.

Porcelain veneers will eventually need to be replaced, and since they require us to alter your tooth, they should be considered a lifetime commitment.

Caring for Dental Veneers

Both composite and porcelain are reliable and durable materials. It is still a good idea to avoid some behaviours to protect your new smile, however.

  • Never use teeth to open packages.
  • Avoid chewing on pens and pencils.
  • Don’t bite into anything overly hard with your front teeth.
  • Avoid super-sticky and gooey foods.

Our experienced team will discuss ways you can still enjoy your favourite foods without damaging your new smile. If you do crack or lose a veneer, call us right away, and we will be happy to help.
