My tooth is broken. What are my options?

If you're dealing with a cracked or broken tooth, the first step is to visit your dentist. Your tooth may or may not be causing you discomfort. Whether or not you are in pain, it's important to assess the damage and determine how to repair your tooth so you can avoid more significant problems or discomfort.

Dental Bonding

If your tooth is slightly chipped or fractured, your dentist may be able to repair it with a treatment called dental bonding. This procedure uses the same material as dental fillings to repair small chips or cracks in your teeth.

Porcelain Veneer

A veneer is a thin layer of porcelain that fits over your fractured or broken tooth and is bonded directly to it. Dental veneers can be an excellent solution for teeth that are chipped or cracked.

Tooth Crowns for Broken Teeth

If your tooth is broken beyond what dental bonding can repair, a tooth crown may be an excellent solution. A crown fits over your damaged tooth and closely mimics its size, shape, and color to blend with your smile naturally.

A crown also provides all the functions you need for chewing and eating with ease.

If you have a tooth in need of repair, your dentist in South Calgary is here to help.
